“Suffer the Little Children”

Sorry guys, I had to.

This last week I have been quite sickened to discover the way our government is handling the immigration issue.

I understand. There are processes to follow, checks that have to be made and I know it can’t just be a parade into our borders but SERIOUSLY!!!? Ripping families apart? CAGING children? What in the entire Jesus-sphere is going on?

Now, I’m not anti-Trump and I certainly don’t wish the guy ill, but who’s he trying to please? Is ANYONE impressed with his decisions and the actions that follow?

We could talk here about his bogus tax bill which, in two years, is going to put more tax burden on the working citizen and less on the super-rich. We could talk about the guy’s basic lack of a moral compass but to be honest, there’s not really a need to. I think we are seeing a little of what the kids call “true colors.”

The worst part about all of this is the fact that his biggest supporters seam to be Evangelical Christians.

And here is where the fan blades get poopy.

HOW IN THE HEAVENS DO CHRISTIANS GET OFF SUPPORTING THIS KIND OF TRASH!?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it a thousand more times… Christians, READ YOUR BIBLES!

I know it’s easy to just go off of what you hear vomited from the pulpit every Sunday and think you are destined to rule the world after Jesus comes back and wipes out most of humanity but maybe, in the mean time, pick up your Bible and actually read what it SAYS and watch as your paradigms are destroyed.

What am I getting at? Well, as it were, the Bible, even in the old testament, explicitly OPPOSES what is happening in America concerning our foreign policies and the way these immigrants and their families are being treated.

Need some proof?

Uh oh… and this is when YHWH was in charge! LOL

When we compare passages like this to the life and ministry of Jesus Himself it should go without saying that, as Christians, we should be in an uproar of opposition to the current establishment’s means of dealing with immigration.

A passage that’s not noted above is one you may also be familiar with.

Matthew 19:14 says:
“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Pretty clear.

What WE are seeing in our modern time, however, is pretty much the OPPOSITE of this. Not only are we taking children from their parents and holding them in a caged prison for who knows how long, but we are turning away truly needy people who just want a chance at a better life for themselves and their families.

Christians, this is NOT something we should be supporting.

This should break our hearts.

If your Church or Pastor support this kind of anti-Christ mentality and action and you haven’t already had thoughts of leaving, NOW IS THE TIME.

If the Church doesn’t strongly oppose and have a voice against such atrocities then WHAT THE HELL IS IT GOOD FOR?

Maybe a mental and emotional band-aid now and then. Maybe for a little ego stroking and some good music. But NOW, when there’s an opportunity to REALLY do some good for the world and TRULY represent the One we are supposedly representing?

What can we do?

“Well Rhett, we can pray.”

PFFT!!!

Okay, okay, YES, we can pray. Sending positive vibes their way can’t hurt.

But you know what would REALLY help? If all the churches, no matter what denomination recognized the need of these hurting and desperate people and came together with one voice to our governments and said “ENOUGH!!! WE WILL NOT LET THIS STAND AND UNLESS SOMETHING CHANGES WE WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT SUCH AN ADMINISTRATION!”

These are human beings, not “criminals” as the extreme right would have you believe!!! They’re just you and me without our privileges who are JUST as deserving as we are at a shot for happiness.

Most of all, these people do NOT deserve the treatment they are receiving.

If your kids were in a Cartel-run government with violence in the streets and poor living conditions, but a few hundred miles north you knew there was safety, supposed fairness and equality and opportunities you could hardly dream of, tell me you wouldn’t get there any way you possibly could.

That’s all this is. These aren’t depraved zombie-demons disguised as people just waiting for an opportunity to slip in unnoticed so they can kill us in the night and wear our skin. Well, maybe a few of them 😉 But no, seriously, most of them are hard working people that want only the best for themselves and others, like most of humanity is.

So, IF you are going to take a stand on this issue, I implore you, make sure, especially if you claim to be a follower of Jesus, that you take the RIGHT stance.

Thanks for hearing my rant and I hope none of you are offended, although, if you were offended, maybe ask yourself WHY you are offended. Because I highly doubt it’s me.
